For when you want to feel self-assured, Bloom Intense has real flower power

What is it?

The newest Bloom in Gucci’s bunch, Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum Intense joins the OG Bloom EDP and Bloom EDT, plus the globally adored Ambrosia and Profumo di Fiori

Blended by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, and inspired by the magnetic forces of moonlight, Gucci calls Intense ‘a potent fragrance – a catalyst for the creative spirit, encouraging all to bloom into their most authentic selves.

‘It bottles the feminine force of creativity, revealing the most entrancing distillation in the Gucci Bloom garden yet.’

The Gucci Garden

What’s in it?

Top notes: pear, ginger essence, mandarin
Heart notes: sambac jasmine absolute, orange blossom absolute, lady of the night
Base notes: patchouli essence, coconut, crystal moss

How it looks

The packaging is on point. Bloom Intense’s box has a red Toile de Jouy Herbarium Gucci print (emblematic of the scent’s night-blooming garden) unfurling with cherry branches, flowers and leaves on a blush background.

And the bottle? Lacquered in intense black, with a golden, art deco-esque frame, Intense could make even the most cluttered beauty cabinet look undeniably chic. The sort of accessory-scent that you’ll be desperate to show off, nonchalantly strapping it to the side of your handbag and/or atop a plinth, ideally.

What it smells like

On first impressions, Bloom Intense is unexpectedly feminine, a warm floral that instantly transports you to a fresh but frivolous Gucci garden. More grown-up than the Gucci Bloom EDP, Intense is one for fans of a white floral blend, sure, but with a shot of sensuality and intensity – unlike the OG Bloom, but with similar mass appeal.

A heady bouquet of mixed florals (akin to wafting through a wild but walled garden) with undertones of musk, swirls of citrus, subtly sweet pears and a hint of creamy coconut, Intense will both delight and surprise your nostrils, yet somehow dries to a softer skin scent – so never feels overwhelming.

How long does it last?

Bloom Intense is long-lasting as a skin scent – I only topped mine up after six hours.

How it feels

Fresh and floral like the Bloom EDP, sweet but sexy like Ambrosia di Fiori – Intense is all things to all people.

Yours for when you want to feel empowered and self-assured, Bloom Intense isn’t showy, sickly sweet or submissive.

Is it worth the money?

The ultimate ‘pep talk’ perfume, Gucci Bloom EDP Intense is The One for anyone looking for a decadent, spirit-lifting scent, be it on VIP days, or mundane Mondays. A multifaceted fragrance, as sophisticated as it is stylish and sweet, Bloom Intense is unashamedly, undeniably, utterly, deliciously Gucci – and as such – worth every penny.
