A quick run-down of the best brands that have just landed at John Lewis

Before you sidle up to your loungewear for another long day in front of the computer, have a think about what you want your post-lockdown wardrobe to look like. Are you a cooler, more casual version of the man you were before? Or are you taking on a more serious, straight-down-the-line approach where tailoring comes first? Whatever you decide, we’ve got launches at John Lewis that will help catapult you into post-lockdown life.

1.

Community Clothing

Patrick Grant’s British-made basics brand Community Clothing recently landed at John Lewis with a serious bang. The 10-piece collection is made up of everyday must-haves, from traditional workwear jackets in brilliant blue and denim, to T-shirts, jeans, sweatshirts and hoodies that are all made with the best quality materials, right here in the UK.

2.

Barbour Wilderness

Now that lockdown has given you a new appreciation for the great outdoors, there’s never been a better time to ramp up the ramblecore (a phrase coined by our Production Editor). There’s no better collaboration to do it with than Ben Fogle’s one with Barbour. The new collection is all about adaptability, so pieces that you can wear for a walk in the park that’ll still look good when you head to the pub. Our favourite piece? The Wilderness Wave casual jacket in powder blue.

3.

Kin

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: there are very few ranges out there as good as Kin. The John Lewis own brand is all about boxy masculine shapes, an on-trend colour palette and the perfect balance of smart and casual. If you’re looking to weave some brighter tones into your post-lockdown wardrobe, Kin are doing that especially well – particularly with their bright blue jersey shorts, T-shirt and sweatshirt.

4.

Far Afield

If you’re not quite managing to get abroard this year but are longing for a bit of escapism, Far Afield is the brand for you. It’s British, but takes inspiration from international travels to put a progressive – and unique – spin on its pieces. Colour and pattern reign supreme, but in a way that’s not overwhelming and can be paired with any other much-loved staple that you already own. Their bright and bold shirts are surefire winners.

5.

Levi’s

If you thought that Levi’s was exclusively about blue jeans, think again. While this much-loved, timeless brand does denim unbelievably well, it is always adding more pieces, patterns and products to its repertoire, including logo T-shirts, worker shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, all of which strike a brilliant balance between smart and casual if you’re still not sure exactly how you want to dress when life resumes normality.
