From choosing the right pillows to second-guessing their middle-of-the-night requirements, our video explains how to spoil anyone who sleeps over
Whether it’s a sofa or a spare room you’re offering overnight visitors, there are a few easy tweaks you can make to your hosting protocols to make sure your guests leave the next morning awash with contentment.
For example, try sleeping where your guests will be snoozing, so you know what they’ll experience. Not with them – that would be weird – but ahead of time so you can make any changes. Is it too bright, too noisy, too hot? Would blinds, earplugs or an open window make things more comfortable? Chances are guests will be too polite to say if something prevented them from getting a good night’s kip. Also, think about what they might need at night: a few thoughtfully chosen books and a carafe of water can help see off any dehydration or insomnia.
