Product description

Introducing a brand new European exclusive timepiece into the Prospex land collection, inspired by the clearest water in the world.

Diving is at the heart of Prospex, and this watch design is influenced by the landscape of one of the world's most iconic diving destinations. It takes its inspiration from the surrounding craggy moss-covered terrains of Silfra in Iceland, between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which continue to drift further apart each year. Silfra remains the only place in the world where divers can explore the fissure between two continents - the water is filtered through lava over the course of 100 years, making it the clearest water in the world – whilst adventurers explore the challenging terrain.

This land-based watch is built in the classic 'tortoise' design – as named by fans for its comfortable wrist shape and land inspiration. In addition to the stainless-steel bracelet, this timepiece also comes with a grey nylon strap. Powered by a 4R35 automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve and -35/+45 seconds per day accuracy, it has a water resistance of 20bar.

Its sapphire crystal glass has an anti-reflective coating, whilst the hands and indexes feature Lumibrite for improved night visibility. This limited-edition piece comes in a special box.

Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable, and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.

DEDICATED TO PERFECTION The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 22 year old Entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling clocks in central Tokyo. Just eleven years later, in 1892, he established the ‘Seikosha’ factory and built its first clock, and in 1895, its first pocket watch. Today, after 135 years of innovation, Kintaro Hattori’s company is still dedicated to the perfection that the founder always strove to achieve.
