Party tights are back with a bang this Christmas

Want to look the part this festive season? Forget clutch bags or the pursuit of the perfect pair of party flats to take you from desk to dusk and back again, it’s all about tights.

The groundwork for this trend was done in October: Adele brought a newfound appreciation for polka dot tights during her return to the cultural conversation. She was joined by Tracee Ellis Ross (above), who shared a diamond dot pair with her Instagram followers, and Cardi B, who is also a hosiery mega fan. For us, the arrival of this trend is excellent news, especially as party season kicks into gear.

Tthere is no little black dress on the planet that can’t be improved by a pair of 20 deniers with a playful side to their personality. For a festive look that requires little in the way of effort, party tights make perfect sense. A polka dot style will add a new dimension to a leather mini-skirt and an oversized knit, while tights in leopard print work well with denim and are excellent for wild nights out.
